Connected Mistake (long 60sec version)

Music is called End Of Era and its used with permission from stockmusicboutique.com

Tutors: Martin Bowman, Neil Gallagher, Ian Willcock, Alan Peacock, Ivan Phillips

Thanks to: all my friends and family for support

Software used: Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Headus UV layout, Foundry's Mari, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects

Development blog: cmistake.blogspot.com

UPDATE: Cmistake Crash updated and matted scenes
This is a compilation of some shots which were not in the final or had unwanted artifacts like polygons on places where they should not been. I didn't re-render the scenes, just corrected them in After Effects and Premiere

Precedence (VFX)

This short experimental abstract animation clip is a part of undergraduate project for Computer Graphics at University Of Bedfordshire. It is a first try with superimposing 3D effects and animation into pre-recorded video image and use of matchmoving software.

The story is around young man surrounded by chaos, who feels lost and is in middle of process to finding his ideals and values, which could fulfil his lost soul. After experiencing joys of existence in a form of nature/life he moves through fragments of friendship or potential affection by meeting a girl. Those acts are not filling his lost interests till the point he spots a guitar as a symbol of music and melody, which completes his journey of finding himself.

Fluid storytelling through motion and superimposed effects trying to express the chaotic world we are living and uplift the importance of ideals.

Insertion: At 0:25 second on yard could be seen a basic 3d object namely Utah Teapot (made in 1975 by Martin Newell one of the main pioneer in computer graphics research). Objects is placed there as a reference for Newell teapot as a honour to computer graphics community

Addition: I'm aware of the unwanted artefacts / errors, most of them are caused by the poor video quality of the original recordings due to bad camera settings for as much as at that stage I was not familiar with particular device, had limited functionality and no time to figuring out the proper settings as I was able to use it just for one day. First shots were made at the beginning of the project. How the workflow progressed and the knowledge of particular software the quality of superimposing grows.

SinTaxi Showroom

Model of a cab made for homage advertisement animation with SinCity theme.

Running Boy and Rig (body+face+FX)
This is a running test and a composition prepared for Connected Mistake animation shot with body and facial rig. The cloth and hair are simulated.

Dog test with temporary composition

This is a dog running test with composition prepared for Connected Mistake animation, scene with body and facial rig. The ears were simulated with cloth, wrapped with skinwrap and body utilized muscle system. It was an animation test and the dog movement needs better tweaking, however this test focus mostly at ear simulation.

Red chases Blue

RED chases BLUEwas one of the short weekly series course works made for animation practice course at university.
Te goal was to create a short animation where red chases blue. Particularly in this project I tried to create a feature video clip for a song called Harom Kerom made by Czech band Dva.

Music: Dva: harom kerom
Software used: 3D Studio Max, After Effects, Premiere, Audition (CoolEdit2000)

Dissolution

DISSOLUTION EXPERIMENT

...was one of the short weekly series course works made for animation practice course at university.

The concept of dissolution has influenced art and film and animation over the preceding centuries.

Dissolution applies to the idea of creating some form of image of a recognizable subject matter, and then altering it in some way to push the image towards the state of abstraction, but while still leaving something recognizable in the image so it can be understood as being based on reality.

music: Ronald Jenkees - Guitar Sound

Software used: 3D Studio Max, After Effects, Premiere, Audition (CoolEdit2000)

Nostalgia and memory

2day series project.
It is a an old memory , one of the first well remembered...First day in kindergarten..actual first observation of the outdoor spaces.

As time goes by, the memories fade away and most of the them are distorted and enhanced, that effect is represent as an old metal playhouse in the scene (actual replica).
Grass was an essential part of that memory so cant be left out, however as I realized the hardest part of the scene, which made me thinking of various ways how to represent a grass (however unrealistic grass behavior due to time pressure caused by render times)

Netsky

I made this clip of Audio Bullys remix purely for educational purposes  to learn new techniques in Adobe After Effects.
